The Blogs Homepage blog serves as the main page for your Blogs deployment and has some special considerations.
When you deploy Blogs, you set up a blog with the theme of Blogs Homepage that serves as the entry point for the blogs deployment. Setting up the Blogs Homepage blog is detailed in the topic Configuring Blogs
in the installation section of the product documentation. This type of blog is only available to an administrator. You can edit settings for this blog as part of the site-wide settings on the Configuration
tab of the Administration
page. Users will be unable to create blogs until you have set up the Blogs Homepage blog. Once you have set it up, note these restrictions:
Parent topic: Administering Blogs from the User Interface
- Do not create any entries for the Blogs Homepage blog. It is meant as a repository for other blogs, not as an active blog itself.
- If you try to add an entry or bookmarks to the Blogs Homepage blog, it will appear that you can, but the content will not display. Again, the Blogs Homepage blog should not be used as a standard blog.
