Before you begin
While it is possible to access IBM
Connections by using the browser on your mobile device, IBM
recommends that you use the IBM
Connections native app instead. The native app is available for following mobile devices:
- Apple iOS

Connections mobile access from a device.
If your enterprise requires the use of a VPN for mobile device remote access, Lotus Mobile Connect

If you use signer certificates that are not already trusted by the web browser, install the SSL signer (trust) certificate on the mobile device. Standard certificate authorities, such as VeriSign, for example, are trusted by most web browsers, so you would not need to perform this step if you are using a certificate from a standard certificate authority. To install the SSL signer certificate on the mobile device, complete the following step:
- Apple iOS:
Send an email to your users with the certificate provided as an attachment. Ask your users to open the attachment from the device. When they do, the device recognizes and installs the certificate.
- Devices that run on the Symbian operating system:
Refer to the documentation for the device to find out how to install certificates.
For example, to install a certificate on the Nokia S60 device, go to the Nokia website
When you use install IBM
Connections, select the option to install Mobile
If you already installed IBM
Connections, but did not select the Mobile application at the time, you can rerun the installation wizard in Modify mode.
