If you are using the IBM
Connections Desktop Plug-ins for Microsoft Windows
and you switch from a Connections 126.96.36.199 server to a Connections 4.0 server, you must run a configuration tool to refresh the plug-in features. If not, you might experience some unexpected behavior. For example, file locking will not work properly and you will not be able to see the file locking details when you inspect the properties of a file.
You can also use the configuration tool to configure client support for Connections components. You must perform this operation for each user account whenever you remove a component from or add a component to a Connections server. Components you can add or remove are:
Component names are not case-sensitive.

- Open a command window and navigate to the directory where the IBM Connections desktop Plug-ins for Microsoft Windows is installed.
For example, C:\Program Files\IBM\Connections Desktop Plugins
- Enter DIConfig and specify any of the following options:
-addComponent component_name component_url component_url2
Specify either 188.8.131.52 or 4.0 to change the server version. For example,
DIConfig.exe https://enterprise.example.com -version 4.0
Specify the component name and the component URL. For example,
DIConfig.exe https://enterprise.example.com -addComponent Activities https://enterprise.example.com/activities
If you are adding Bookmarks, specify the Bookmarks component as the first URL and the URL for the bookmarklet that controls the Add Bookmark
browser button as the second. For example:
DIConfig.exe https://enterprise.example.com -addComponent Bookmarks https://enterprise.example.com/dogear https://enterprise.example.com/bookmarklet
Specify the component name to be removed from the configuration. For example,
DIConfig.exe https://enterprise.example.com -removeComponent Activities
- Repeat steps 1-2 for each desktop user account that is configured to use the desktop plug-ins.
