Before you start the installation process, review the following installation considerations.
Review the software and hardware requirements for the systems that will host File Viewer and ensure they are met. Refer to

File Viewer supports horizontal scaling but does not support vertical scaling.
Network File Share is used to store draft files and switch temporary files between File Viewer and the Document Format Conversion server.
It is recommended that you install the File Viewer application on the same node as IBM Connections. However, because File Viewer supports only Red Hat Linux and Windows 2008 Server R2, if IBM Connections is installed on different platforms, File Viewer must be installed on different nodes than IBM Connections.
Determine the best deployment option for your installation based on the expected number of users.
Determine your needs from a High Availability (HA) perspective. It will also affect the deployment option you select. In addition to your HA requirements for the File Viewer components, you must consider HA for the servers where you plan to deploy the shared data folder and your database.
