Customize Profiles by choosing which profile attributes are included in the Profiles user interface.
Every Profiles deployment is unique because the data model needs to reflect what is in the corporate directory for the organization. Customizing the attributes for your Profiles deployment does not require web development skills but does require some familiarity with editing XML.
You can choose from a predefined set of Profiles attributes and then extend the data model with extension attributes. An extension attribute is an attribute that you supply to match a field in your corporate directory for which there is no existing predefined attribute.
