Table of Contents

The IBM® Lotus® Expeditor product is an integral part of a service-oriented architecture (SOA). In many distributed environments, there is a need for the remote systems of application components to participate by using lightweight messaging protocols with various servers and applications throughout the enterprise. The content is focused in the pervasive messaging domain, that is, the messaging systems that are deployed in client or small server applications located at the edge of the enterprise network. The goal of pervasive messaging is to enable people, applications, and devices to share information and to respond to each other regardless of where they are located in relation to each other.
