Accessing a defined managed datasource

expanded Abstract
collapsed Abstract
Prior to accessing a managed datasource, the datasource definition and any associated schema definitions must be defined.

Prior to accessing a managed datasource, the datasource definition and any associated schema definitions must be defined.

Refer to ../com.ibm.rcp.tools.doc.admin/dblifecyclemgtintro.html for more information on setting up managed datasource definitions.

To look up a datasource, invoke a standard JNDI lookup:

InitialContext context = new InitialContext();
DataSource source = (DataSource) context.lookup("jdbc/MyDataSource");
Connection connection = source.getConnection();

For more information about JNDI, please see Sun’s documentation: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/api/javax/naming/package-summary.html.
