This chapter covers the use of MicroBroker embedded in Lotus Expeditor integrator as lightweight integration hub for remote locations. The case study is based on two real-life customer scenarios in retail industry. It describes the whole lifecycle of an message oriented integration project to enable remote location data transfer in a reliable and secure manner. In focus are also the deployment of a large number of remote instances as well as transaction monitoring of the data transfer. Finally it will give an oulook to other scenarios that could be covered by Lotus Expeditor integrator, e.g. in Pharma Industry and Utilities.

6.1 Business scenario

  • Description of business scenario

6.2 Solution design

  • System context
  • Customer requirements (functional / non-functional)
  • Architecture overview
  • Operational considerations
  • Architecture decisions

6.3 Setup and configuration of a template for further rollout

  • Base installation of Lotus Expeditor integrator
  • How-to of a configuration of the single use cases once installation has been done
@Martin, I'd include Iceland PoT as well (even if it's DIF / JMS Client related)

6.4 Rollout and update mechanisms

  • Concepts and options for a large scale deployment, e.g. Expeditor Server, Premises Server, custom repository with config message through WMB / WMQ

6.5 Transaction Monitoring capabilities

  • Concepts of enterprise transaction monitoring (for understanding of the background)
  • Business Event generation within Lotus Expeditor integrator as part of Transaction Monitoring

6.6 Extensibility with custom development

  • Description of Lotus Expeditor extension points (may be this should be covered in Chapter 4, need to think about; currently in my opinion Chapter 4 only covers the messaging pattern part of Expeditor integrator)
  • Configuration of a custom Flow
  • Coding of a custom Activity (small building block as part of Lotus Expeditor integrator Flow)

6.7 Relationship to messaging driven clients

  • Connectivity options (Link to other Chapters that describe these options in detail)
  • Reference to Case Study 2

6.8 Lotus Expeditor integrator in other industries

  • Pharmacy client for lookup of drug vendor information
  • Meter data capture unit for Utility enterprises
