It is recommended to first install the Lotus Expeditor Client, followed by the Toolkit. The Lotus Expeditor Client for Desktop can be installed on Windows or Linux. On Windows, install the Lotus Expeditor Client for Desktop by running the following command:

<XPD-CLIENT-SOFTWARE-LOCATION>\desktop\install\setupwin32.exe</XPD-CLIENT-SOFTWARE-LOCATION>

By default the Client is installed to directory C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Expeditor. The Lotus Expeditor Client for Desktop can be launched from the icon on the desktop or from the Start Menu: All Programs -> IBM -> IBM Lotus Expeditor 6.2.0 -> Expeditor 6.2.0.

The DesktopEE VM is the default VM installed with the Client. On first start up of the Client, you are prompted to enter a password for the new KeyStore which is created. The KeyStore is specific to the current DesktopEE VM. Enter a password for the new KeyStore.

A default workspace is created in: C:\Documents and Settings\<userid>\Application Data\Lotus\XPD. </userid>

In order to enable the Client for Desktop to be used with the Toolkit, the Lotus Expeditor Desktop Development Utilities feature must be installed into the Client.

Select File -> Application -> Install to install the feature from the client software location:

<XPD-CLIENT-SOFTWARE-LOCATION>\desktop\updates\platform</XPD-CLIENT-SOFTWARE-LOCATION>

Once the feature is installed, it will be necessary to restart the Client run-time.

It is not necessary to install the Lotus Expeditor Client for Devices. The Client for Devices can be launched by running:

<XPD-CLIENT-SOFTWARE-LOCATION>\device\toolkit-platforms\win32\eclipse\wedlauncher.bat</XPD-CLIENT-SOFTWARE-LOCATION>

This launches the Device run-time which can be used for testing:

To install the Lotus Expeditor Toolkit, open the Eclipse or Rational toolkit, and select Help -> Software Updates -> Available software.
Select Add Site... -> Local.
Select the location of the Toolkit software. Select all items to install. Select Install. Review the items to be installed and select Finish.

The Device and Desktop Toolkits are installed. When the IDE workspace is first created, you will be prompted to configure the Target location and VM. This can be set to the default DesktopEE VM initially.

Once configured, select Help -> Software Updates, and select the Installed Software tab. Scroll down the list to see the Lotus Expeditor Toolkit features which have been installed:
