Lotus® Expeditor Server does not require a Web server for the initial configuration. However, for most production environments, an external Web server is recommended.
To add or update a Web server configuration, follow these steps:
- Install a new Web server or you can start with an existing Web server. The Web server must be supported by WebSphere® Application Server v6.1. For information about supported Web servers, see List of supported software for WebSphere Application Server V6.1.
- Install the WebSphere Application Server plug-in. Complete the tasks outlined in Planning to install Web server plug-ins to set up a Web server with the WebSphere plugins. Note that the process is different depending upon whether or not the Web server is on the same server as the Expeditor Server. It is recommended that for production environments, the Web server be on a separate server.
At the end of this process, you will create a Web server definition in the WebSphere Application Server configuration. This can be done via the WebSphere Administration Console or by using a script generated by the WebSphere Application Server plug-in installation. This script (for example, createwebserver1.bat) must be copied to the server system and run from the was profile/bin directory.
- Log on to the WebSphere Application Server administration console and map the Expeditor Server Enterprise Applications Web modules to the new Web server definition and the application servers where the applications are running. See information about mapping modules to servers in the WebSphere Application Server Information Center. Note that in a clustered environment, you will be mapping the Web modules to the Web server and the cluster definition. The following list will vary depending upon what features of Expeditor Server have been installed.
If you have other applications installed, you can also map them to the new Web server using the same procedure.
- DB2EveryplaceEnterprise9.1. For this enterprise application, all related Web modules will be mapped to the Web Server definition and the IBMDB2eServer application server.
- clientMgmt. For this enterprise application, map the following Web modules to the Web server definition and the clientMgmtServices application server:
- HTTP router for OTiS
- From the WebSphere Application Server administration console, regenerate and propagate the Web server plug-in. For remote Web servers other than the IBM® HTTP Server, the resulting plugin configuration file must be manually copied to the Web server. This process is reviewed in the Planning to install Web Server plug-ins section of the WebSphere Application Server 6.1 information center.
