Before debugging on a device, you must first install debugging tools onto the device. The debugging tools provide a debug version of DeviceEE that has an OSGi console. This allows developers to see messages and manually manage OSGi bundles.
To install the debugging tools, choose the debug CAB from the appropriate operating system folder under \\utils\\debug
on the Lotus® Expeditor Client CD. Copy this CAB to your device and execute it. Note that once the debugging tools are installed, launching a Lotus Expeditor application creates a console. You must manually close this console if its title shows "(finished)" or if you want to completely terminate the Lotus Expeditor environment.
When installing the debugging tools on a Windows® CE device, you will be prompted to choose an install location. The Windows installation tool always presents this prompt on Windows CE, even though the CAB is aware of the Lotus Expeditor install location. As a result, the debugging tools will install to the correct location regardless of the answer you provide to this prompt.
When using the DeviceEE console, you cannot close it by clicking the "X
" button at the top right of the window. It can only be closed using File > Exit
