Installing prerequisite softwareAdded by IBM on October 4, 2010 | Version 1 (Original)
|Before you install Expeditor Server, you must install the following required prerequisite products.
Before you install Expeditor Server, you must install the following required prerequisite products.
WebSphere Application Server (required for DB2e and Expeditor Client Management)DB2® Database (required for DB2e, optional for Expeditor Client Management)
- For supported prerequisite software versions, see Lotus® Expeditor 6.2.1 Server system requirements .
- When clustering, you must install the prerequisite software in the same location on all server machines. This includes WebSphere® Application Server and any database client or database driver jars.
Oracle (optional for Expeditor Client Management)
Download and install DB2 Database Server on your system. You can install the database server locally on the Expeditor Server system or on a remote database system. If the database server is remote, you must install the DB2 client on the Expeditor Server system. The DB2 Runtime Client does not include the GUI tools necessary to manage DB2e, so a minimum of the DB2 Client is required. Note that Expeditor Server 6.2 does not support more than one instance of the DB2 software (server or client) being installed on a server where Expeditor Server will be installed.
Ensure that you meet requirements for DB2 prerequisite information. See Installation requirements for DB2 database products
Expeditor Client Management services can use a remote Oracle Database server for storing configuration and client data. On each server where Client Management Services will be configured, download and install the Oracle 10g R2 Database client or download only the Oracle 10g R2 JDBC thin driver (ojdbc14.jar) to a directory on the file system. Note that in a multi-server environment, the JDBC driver must be in the same directory location. See Lotus Expeditor 6.2.1 Server system requirements for specific version information on Oracle Database support.
When creating an Oracle database for use with Client Management services, you do the following tasks:
Configuring WebSphere Application Server: XPD621
- Create using UNICODE Database and National character set AL32UTF8.
- Enable XA Support.
- Install Oracle JVM.
- Grant the following privileges and roles for the database user id you plan to use when you configure Client Management services: CONNECT, RESOURCE, CREATE SYNONYM, DROP PUBLIC SYNONYM, CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM, CREATE TABLESPACE, ALTER USER, CREATE VIEW, DROP TABLESPACE
Follow these instructions for to configure WebSphere Application Server for Lotus Expeditor Server.
