When you create a task, there is a Notify clients on task creation
check box. If this is selected, the task is considered when the notification process runs.
The notification process runs periodically, based on the following server settings:
| NotifyThreadTimeout ||5||Specifies the notification thread timeout value. Value is specified as minutes.|
|NotifyThrottleValue ||50|| Specifies the maximum number of client notifications sent each time the notification thread runs.|
|NotifyRetryTime ||30||Specifies the number of minutes to wait for a client to connect before another attempt to notify it again is made.|
To disable notification, set the NotifyThreadTimeout value to 0.
The settings for notification are designed to allow you to control the number of clients that will attempt to connect because they were notified. These settings have no control over clients that connect because of the polling settings in the Enterprise Management Agent.
In this example, the Notify process runs every 5 minutes. During those 5 minutes, it attempts to notify a maximum of 50 clients. After a client is notified, it is not notified again unless it has not connected within 30 minutes.
