This topic describes the steps that you need to perform before clustering Expeditor Server.
If you have already clustered Expeditor Server and need to add an additional server, see Adding an additional server
- Ensure that Expeditor Server has been installed and configured on a single managed system with a remote database. See Performing a custom install for how to install and configure Expeditor Server directly into a managed environment. If the Expeditor Server is currently configured into an unmanaged WebSphere profile, see Reconfiguring for a managed environment for information on how to reconfigure the system for a managed environment.
- The WebSphere Application Server federated repository should be configured with an external repository (for example, LDAP). You should not attempt to create a cluster using the WebSphere default file-based registry.
- An external Web server should be installed and configured for the services of Expeditor Server.
- Verify that the single server is working before continuing.
