Use response files to perform the installation and configuration process silently. Response file templates are provided to perform the same tasks as the installation and configuration wizards.
A response file
is a text file that contains the product and system information needed to install and configure components. It is useful for performing silent (unattended) installations. The installation process reads the information from the response file instead of prompting you to fill in the blanks. You can also reuse a response file for future installations, using a text editor to add components or to customize options.
Installing with a response file is well suited to situations where the use of a graphical installation program is impractical or undesirable, or where you want to install Lotus® Expeditor Server on multiple machines with a similar setup.
