Multiple accounts can be configured to share the same credentials.
When creating an account whose credentials you wish to share, check the Allow other accounts to use this login information
checkbox on the New Account page or programmatically set the ALLOW_SHARING
property to true
To configure an account to use the credentials of a previously created account, select Use name and password of an existing account
on the New Account page and select the account whose credentials you would like to share in the drop down box. This can be done programmatically by setting the MASTER_PROPS
property to the ID of the account whose credentials you wish to share.
A single account can be created to encompass a number of servers within a given domain that should share the same credentials. This can be done by adding a wildcard character (*
) to the SERVER field of the account. For example, if all servers in the domain ibm.com
require the same credentials, you can create an account with http://*.ibm.com
and all URLs beginning with http://
and ending with ibm.com
will map this account.
