This topic provides information on the proper configuration of the DB2Everyplace databases for optimum performance.
You can find DB2® performance tuning information at the following Web address: ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/ps/products/db2/info/vr9/pdf/letter/en_US/db2d3e90.pdf
Note that DB2 9.1 provides automatic buffer pool storage management. It is recommended that you use this feature. For example, to set up the memory on a DB2 machine, follow these steps:
- Determine the number of buffer pools in use. For example, IBMDEFAULTBP and ISPB_BP16K.
- Set the buffer pools to automatic memory management as follows:
db2 alter bufferpool IBMDEFAULTBP size automatic
db2 alter bufferpool ISPB_BP16K
- Connect to each Lotus® Expeditor database and configure the percentages based on your expected usage of that particular Lotus Expeditor component.
- Restart DB2.
