This section describes how you can update the jvm.properties
The jvm.properties file that is packaged with IBM® supported JVM features generally should be considered read-only. However it is possible to override these values, as outlined in Updating the rcpinstall.properties file
file is used when using an external JVM. Since it is only populated with a minimal set of properties it is expected that it will be modified. You may add other properties that are appropriate for the JVM that you are using. These additional values should not be added to the command line or rcpinstall.properties since they are JVM-specific.
If you are using the default JVM you will see a property like this:
This property enables the shared classes. If you are debugging with the SDK you may want to disable this property. There are several ways to do this:
- Comment out the line with # .
- Use .\\rcplauncher.exe -vmargs vmarg.Dshare=
- Add arguments like these to rcplauncher.properties and launch with .\\rcplauncher.exe -config rdebug:
The third option allows you to turn this behavior off or on from the command line. This will pause the launch and allow attaching a remote debug session on port 9999. Press Enter in the console window to continue launch.
