Use the View Collector File task to view the collector output file or files.
In most cases, all collected data is stored in a single output file using the zip format. For certain products you have the option to store the collected data in a single output file or split the output file into multiple files. Collector output file names have the format collector_<timestamp>.zip.
If the collection completed successfully, you can view the contents of the collector file by selecting the Collected Result
link in the Current Status
or Previous Status
When all the data is collected and stored in the collector output file or files, the IBM® Support Assistant Collector will attach the collector output file or files to the selected case or incident. In the case of a remote collection, the collector output file or files are first transferred to the IBM Support Assistant Workbench system and then attached to the selected case or incident. Collector output files persist on the remote system. It is your choice to keep or to delete the collector output files from remote systems after they are transferred to the workbench.
Note that there are rare occasions when the Collector does not create a .zip output file. In these cases the Collector creates an analysis report. Analysis reports are typically used by IBM support engineers and are created at the request of IBM.
