This section contains the example business case for implementing a Lotus Notes® view container.
A generic component is needed that can be used to extract data from selected Lotus Notes documents from within a Lotus Notes view. The component allows assemblers in the Composite Application Editor to define properties and associate those properties with fields and formulas on the document. The expectation is to use formula language as the extraction mechanism for data on the document; this expectation means that a basic field name can be used, but advanced formulas can also be used for more complex extraction. The properties are then exposed as output properties and set actions on the component. Last, the formula language can define the landmark identifier. This definition gives the new container the ability to have different actions based on the landmark, such as form value or some other document identifier.
