An implementation to reboot the device is available for the Linux® and Generic agent extensions, but needs a customized daemon to monitor for the existence of a file that is written out when the agent receives the reboot command.
Since these extensions have no native functions to perform reboot, the daemon will need to perform the reboot and manage the file that was written out by the extension. The file will be placed in the client system's java.io.tmpdir, named “reboot.txt” with the contents of “reboot now”. Windows® devices do not need a custom daemon for performing reboot.
A reboot task is available in Client Management services to perform the reboot. For more information about submitting a Reboot command, see Running a command on a client
