You can collect system and log data on a system where the client does not start.
To collect system and problem determination data, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the rcp subdirectory of the Lotus® Expeditor Client installation directory (for example, C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Expeditor\rcp).
- Run the following file to start the collector:
When complete the collector will provide output similar to the following:
Please send the following file to support... C:\\Documents and Settings\\Administr
At this point the data has been collected and can be provided to your service/support representative.
In some environments it may be required to change the location of the collector output file. There are two ways to provide a custom output location.
- Provide a custom response file
- Manually provide answers to the collection prompts
- Providing a Custom response file
A custom response file can be generated by supplying the -record parameter and the output filename to the collector:
: startcollector.bat -record <path to custom response file>
: ./startcollector.sh -record <path to custom response file>
Once a custom response file is created, it can be supplied to the collector. The collector will then use the custom response file to generate the collector ZIP:
: startcollector.bat <path to custom response file>
: ./startcollector.sh <path to custom response file>
Then manually provide answers to the collection prompts.
If the -prompt
parameter is provided, the collector will prompt for responses:
: startcollector.bat -prompt
: ./startcollector.sh -prompt
When prompted, provide a fully qualified path for the output zip file from the collector. Ensure that you specify a .zip extension, for example, c:/temp/isaoutput.zip, and click Yes to create the collection zip file. When prompted to enter the number or title of the Automated Problem Determination tool collection option you want, select option 1: Expeditor General Collector.
The collector gathers the problem determination data into the ZIP file and then informs the user of the location of the file.
If you need to run the startcollector
scripts more than one time to gather problem determination data, you must exit the previous instance of the collection and start the collector scripts again.
After you collect the appropriate diagnostic data, you can analyze the data or create a service request if you have an IBM® Support contract.
