You can configure the Enterprise Management Agent using the Desktop Preferences page.
Access the Enterprise Management Agent Preferences page using the File
-> Enterprise Management Agent
dialog. The following parameters appear on the Enterprise Management Agent Preferences page:
Table 1. Enterprise Management Agent Parameters
|Enable the Enterprise Management Agent ||Enables management of the client through the Enterprise Management Agent. After the Enterprise Management Agent is enabled, it cannot be easily disabled.|
|Account name ||Choose which account to use. The default Enterprise Management Agent account is named AgentDefaultAccount. Accounts can be pre-configured using the Accounts preference page. For more information, refer to Creating accounts.|
This account name is also used as the SyncML/DM account ID, which is often the same as the server ID.
|Server Password ||This is optional and depends on how the client management server performs authentication. It is only needed if the server requires it. This option is hidden in the preference page by default. To show this setting, set the EnableAdvProps property to true. For more information, refer to Configuring using the OSGi Agent properties file on Lotus Expeditor Client for Desktop.|
Note: Expeditor Client Management server does not implement SyncML/DM authorization and this password does not need to be set.
|Test Connection ||Select this button to test that the Enterprise Management Agent can connect to the Client Management server using the parameters as specified on this page.|
|Device ID||A unique device name for the device. The device name is often a serial number or other unique string. The device ID is automatically generated by the Enterprise Management Agent and cannot be modified. It is displayed here for information purposes only.|
The Lotus® Expeditor Client preference panel does not allow creation of multiple accounts. The Client Management server provides functionality to allow a user to change the default account ID using a Custom Command.
You can view agent configuration information, including the Device ID, by selecting Help
-> About Lotus Expediter
-> Configuration Details
