Custom commands use one or more specified BaseOMA DM commands to perform operations on target devices or to return device information.
Commands are specified when the job is submitted from the Device Manager console. Commands are run on the device the next time it connects to the Device Manager server. The job results and details are stored in the Device Manager database. This allows mobile device users to add custom capabilities to the management system.
In Expeditor Client Management, this is accomplished by adding custom Nodes as inventory Items, similar to Properties.
You can work with custom nodes using the Expeditor Client Management custom node inventory interface by opening Expeditor Client Management > Clients
, then selecting your client. From the Client Options, select Custom Node Inventory
. The page displays a list of the custom nodes currently associated with the selected client. From here, you can create, edit, and delete custom nodes, using the options in the Actions
drop down menu.
SyncML nodes created by Lotus® Expeditor are not designed to be persistent after a client restart. Registry nodes are created dynamically based on queries from the actual system registry. Similar to the management of properties files and eclipse preferences, they all reference a separate data repository. Refer to Developing management applications for information on creating persistent custom nodes.
You can also work with custom node collections using the Expeditor Client Management custom node collections interface by opening Expeditor Client Management > Custom Node Collections
. The page lists the current custom node collections. From here you can create, edit, and delete custom node collections, using the options in the Actions
drop down menu.
