This section describes how you can update the jvm.properties
The jvm.properties file that is packaged with IBM® supported JVM features generally is considered read-only. It is possible, however, to override these values, as outlined in Updating the rcpinstall.properties file
file is used when using an external JVM. Because it is populated with only a minimal set of properties, it is expected that it will be modified. You can add other properties that are appropriate for the JVM that you are using. These additional values are not added to the command line or rcpinstall.properties because they are JVM-specific.
If you are using the default JVM you see a property like this one:
This property enables the shared classes. If you are debugging with the SDK you might want to disable this property. There are several ways to do this task:
- Comment out the line with #.
- Use .\\rcplauncher.exe -vmargs vmarg.Dshare=.
- Add arguments like these arguments to rcplauncher.properties and launch with .\\rcplauncher.exe -config rdebug:
The third option allows you to turn this behavior off or on from the command line. This ability lets you pause the launch and allow attaching a remote debug session on port 9999. Press Enter in the console window to continue the launch.
