This section provides information about setting the landmark configurations in the Composite Application Editor (CAE).
To define landmark configurations in the Composite Application Editor, right-click any container component in the page navigator and select Edit Component Properties
. The window for editing component preferences displays.
For container components, there is a dedicated tab for editing the landmark configuration of the container called Landmarks
Containers can provide a list of available landmark types, for example Local Name, Title, URL and URI for the Web application container. Either choose one of these from the Type of Landmark
drop-down menu or enter the wanted landmark type manually. Next, press the Add Landmark
button to create an actual landmark of the chosen landmark type. There might be a list of landmark expressions suggested by the container to select from. Alternatively, a landmark expression can be entered manually, for example, a regular expression. Landmark events can be created using the Add Event
button. Any available event can be used only once for a given landmark. You can then add operations to events (again, using a dedicated button). For any wanted operation, a wired property must be available. This property is in the Advanced
properties tab of the component preferences dialog. In terms of operations, the container defines the available actions (typically receive and publish), and it might provide a set of suggested fields to select from.
Sometimes it is necessary to change the order in which operations are executed. To achieve this, there are arrow-like icons that allow for rearranging the execution order of the operations of an event.
Finally, it is possible to export and import landmark definitions. These are stored in XML files. At the bottom of this dialog, there are buttons to start an export or import task.
