Ensure that you set up the IBM® Lotus Foundations™ Rescue server before configuring the IBM Lotus Foundations Start server to send files to the remote backup server. Failure to do so creates authentication problems.

When an IBM Lotus Foundations Start server is configured to send backups to an IBM Lotus Foundations Rescue server, the IBM Lotus Foundations Start server first completes a local idb backup. After the local idb backup completes, the IBM Lotus Foundations Start server sends a copy of the local backup file to the IBM Lotus Foundations Rescue server.

To configure the IBM Lotus Foundations Start server to send backups to the IBM Lotus Foundations Rescue server, perform the following steps on the IBM Lotus Foundations Start server.
  1. Ensure that the local idb backup is configured correctly. Refer to the IBM Lotus Foundations Rescue section in Administering IBM Lotus Foundations Start 12 .
  2. Click Backup in the left menu of WebConfig. In the Remote Backup Status field, click the Configure Remote Server Settings link. The Rescue Server Setup page is displayed.
