6: Establish connectivity between the Lotus Foundations Branch Office Server
and the Domino Enterprise server
Optional: Establish a secure network
In many cases you might want to set up a secure network
connection between your branch office and your head office. Part of that
secure connection can be the VPN features of Lotus Foundations. Or you
can use any other network hardware or software for this site-to-site secure
connection. For more information on using the VPN included with Lotus Foundations,
refer to the
Virtual Private Networks chapter of the
Lotus
Foundations Branch Office Administration Guide.
Establish connections
To establish connections between the servers, follow these
steps:
1. From
a workstation, telnet to the Domino Enterprise server. Use a command line
to 'ping' the Lotus Foundations Branch Office server. For example,
ping
keyphrase3.mycompanydev5.com
If you cannot 'ping' the Lotus Foundations Branch Office
server, contact your local network administrator.
