You can reduce the form’s load time in the Viewer by reducing the use of the calendar widget.
The calendar widget takes significantly longer than other widgets to load into memory. If you are using a few of these widgets (such as 10 or 20), you are unlikely to notice any impact. However, if you are using a large number of these widgets you may be able to improve speed by using regular date fields instead.
You can format a field so that it only accepts and displays date information. The following example shows the code for a simple date field that allows users to type in a date or type an asterisk to trigger the form into displaying the current date.
You can also specify how the date will be displayed in the form by creating a presentation pattern. For example, to ensure that the date is displayed as day, month, year, with the month displayed in alphabetical form (ie: 10 April, 2007) you could create the following pattern:
<pattern>d MMMM, yyyy</pattern>
