Designing forms for use in FileNet® P8 requires that you include navigation buttons within the form, mark form items as "Public", and save the form template in a specific format.
Navigation of form pages
Forms that are created in IBM® Forms Designer have navigation buttons built into the form, such as page next and page last buttons; however, you cannot use these buttons when working with an IBM form in FileNet. Navigation in a FileNet eForm is handled by the FileNet P8 system. You need to add FileNet-specific buttons to IBM forms.
Submission buttons are controlled by the FileNet save/launch buttons in the toolbar and do not need to be added to the IBM form.
Mapping IBM Forms items using the FileNet interface
If you want form items from an IBM form to appear in the Form Policy field mapping interface in FileNet, then mark the form item as "Public" in the Designer. See Marking data public to trigger workflow decisions: LFP8 4
for detailed instructions.
Saving forms for import into FileNet
To import an IBM form into FileNet P8, you must save the form as .xfdd
instead of the usual .xfdl
extension of IBM Forms. You can change the extension by using the "Save as" option when saving the form, or by renaming the file to change the extension to .xfdd
after the form has been saved and closed.
