Setting up layout tools

The Designer has a number of built in tools to help with the alignment of items on a form, such as rulers and grids. This section of the tutorial shows how to turn grids, rulers and "snap to" tools on and off.
To help align the items in the form, set up your workspace to display the rulers, grid lines and turn on the snap to geometry tool.
and select each choice to turn it on.

A check mark displays with each menu item to indicate that it is on.
The following image shows the design canvas with the grid turned on.
To turn the rulers or grids off, click
and click the item you wish to remove. The check mark with the item is cleared and the item is removed from the canvas.
