To stop and start the server, you need the Administrative user name and password created during the Forms Experience Builder installation. To start and stop the server, you must have administrative privileges on a Windows
™ machine, or be logged on as root
on a Linux
™ machine. There are three ways to stop and start the server:
- Using a batch file – Go to <Install directory>/WebSphere/AppServerCommunityEdition/bin/. Use startup.bat/sh, and shutdown.bat/sh to start and stop the server.
When using shutdown.bat/sh, you are prompted for the WebSphere Application Server Community Edition administrative user name and password.
- Using the command line – If you selected "Run the server instance as a service", the service geronimosrv was created. To manage the installed service from a command line:
Using the Start menu – (Windows only) After Forms Experience Builder is installed, a shortcut is installed on the Windows Start menu. Go to Start -> Programs -> IBM Forms Server 8.0 -> Experience Builder. Select either Start the server or Stop the server.
- On a Windows system: Use net start|stop| geronimosrv to start and stop the server.
- On a Linux system: Use geronimosrv start|stop|restart|status admin_username admin_password to stop and start the server.
Note: If you selected "Run the server instance as a service", and are using certain versions of Windows, such as Windows 7, Vista, or Windows 2008, you must start and stop the server as an administrator. To access Run as Administrator, right-click on Start the server or Stop the server, and select Run as Administrator from the menu.
