Your user profile must have the appropriate authorities. You must also plan for the database that you use with Translator.
If you are running WebSphere
® Application Server with the default account, you must change the user profile that runs the TranslatorServer application. The user profile must have *ALLOBJ and *SECADM special authorities.
To change the user profile:
If you are using DB2® UDM for iSeries®
as your database, you must take special precautions when installing Translator. After installation is complete, you must update the data source information in WebSphere
During the installation of Translator, you will be prompted for a database type and connection information. When prompted:
- Choose the DB2 database. Do not choose Derby.
- Accept the default values for the database connection.
- Do not test the database connection.
- When the installer completes, do not verify the installation. Because the database is populated during the first time that Translator is accessed, verifying the installation before you set up a database will fail. You must perform the post installation procedures before verifying the installation.
