When a user prints a form through Webform Server, the server responds with a print preview. The user can either print the form from the preview or close the preview and return to the original form.
The preview is generated on the server, either as an image (PNG or GIF) or as a PDF, depending upon the configuration of Webform Server. Unless the print size is configured on the form, the preview is generated to a size that is determined by the server configuration.
Because the preview is generated on the server, any fonts used by the form must also reside on the server in order for the form to print correctly. In other words, when designing forms that users may print, make sure you use fonts that you can make available on the server.
If you are using Webform Server in a clustered environment, you can create a dedicated print server.
Forms that are printed from Webform Server and have an output format of either png
appear slightly smaller than forms printed from the Viewer.
