To avoid problems during the tutorial, make sure that you have the Webform Server samples installed and that Webform Server is operating correctly.
You should verify that the samples are installed and working because after creating the project files, you copy them into the samples folder of Webform Server. When the files are in the samples folder, you can access them with the sample servlet.
- Verify that the Webform Server samples are installed. Look in the folder WebSphere\AppServer\profiles\AppSrv01\installedApps\<Cell name> for the folder WebformSampleApp.ear.
If you cannot find WebformSampleApp.ear, run the IBM® Forms Server installer and in the Optional Deployment Settings panel, choose the Deploy Forms API option.
- Verify the port number of the server that the sample applications are installed on. For a simple installation, the port number is usually 9080. For more complex installations, see Checking the port number for instructions on verifying the port number.
- Open a browser and navigate to http://<host>:<port>/Samples where <host> is the name or IP address of the computer that contains the Webform Server framework, and <port> is the port number from step 2.
If the samples web page opens, then the Webform Server sample servlet is operating correctly.
- Click InsuranceQuoteWizard.xfdl.
If the Insurance Quote Wizard form opens, then Translator is operating correctly.
After you have verified that the samples are installed and that you can open a form using the sample servlet, you can start creating the files.
