When Translator starts, it reads in a configuration file called translator.properties
. The translator.properties
file is an XML file that contains settings that affect performance, printing, form attachments, and a variety of other Translator operating parameters.
The default values are adequate for general purpose use. However, for production use you should examine each setting to ensure that it meets the needs of your application.
The settings are stored as key-value pairs within <entry> elements. For example, the fcCacheSize setting is stored as follows:
The settings in translator.properties
file affect all applications that use Translator. However, some settings can be overridden by settings in the web.xml
file of servlets and in the portlet.xml
file of portlets, allowing you to affect individual applications. See the Configuring a servlet
and Configuring a portlet
topics for more information.
