Overview

Mainsoft's SharePoint® Federator for WebSphere® Portal provides a set of portlets to access content from Microsoft Sharepoint Sites. These portlets can be used in Lotus Quickr places.

Setup

To get the portlets, download the portlet war file (MainsoftSharePointFederator.war) from the Mainsoft site at http://dev.mainsoft.com/Default.aspx?tabid=296. A trial version of the portlets is available for evaluation purposes.

After installing the portlets you will notice that there are two portlets available for your use: the SharePoint List Viewer portlet and the SharePoint Item Viewer portlet. The List Viewer portlet shows the content of a Sharepoint List and the Item Viewer Portlet shows the content of a single item from a Sharepoint list. The two portlets can be wired together to allow you to the see the details of an item you selected from the list.

To place the portlets on to a page just use the Websphere Portal Administration portlets to create a page in a Quickr place and then add the portlets to the page.

Configuration and Usage

Once the portlets are on a page in a Quickr place, they need to be configured to point to the Sharepoint site, a list within that site and the credentials for accessing the site. Here is a simple example of hwo to do that using the list viewer portlet.

First, specify the location of the sharepoint site by editing the shared settings of the portlet.

Then, specify the credentials you will use to access the Sharepoint site.

Finally, specify the list you want to see in the Quickr place.

Then, when you open the Quickr place you will see the items from the list.

There are other options to configure the portlet, allowing you to filter the list, select specific columns to see, and control the look and feel of the portlet.

More Information

More information about configuring and using the Mainsoft Federator Portlets can be found at
