add (person)

The add action adds a person to the specified place. The person can exist in the place or can exist outside the place in an external directory, depending upon which attribute you specify for them.

When adding an external person to a place, the external user directory is not consulted for existence or name correctness. You can specify any supported attributes or elements of the person when the add action is performed since the specified person is updated immediately following this add operation.

This action is performed to initially add a person to the specified place but it does not give that person any rights to access elements of the place. That action is performed by the < member >
node within a room.
