Overview

Any service operation that returns an Atom feed produced by the API must contain a valid Atom generator tag.

The generator tag can be used to determine information about the service provider. It is intended to provide a simple mechanism for a client to determine the product release, component type, and server it is interacting against. It is not intended to be used by clients to disable or enable specific application function.

For this function, please refer to Capability Introspection.

The recommended format for a generator tag is the following:

<generator uri="urn:ibm.com/td" version="{product-release}">
 {COMPANY} {PRODUCT} - {COMPONENT} - {REPOSITORY_TYPE}
</generator>

The following provides concrete examples:

<generator uri="LotusQuickr/apiplace1/Main.nsf/h_Index/DC2358210AB892AB4825785B00379C31?OpenDocument"  version="852000.000" >
LotusQuickr
</generator>
