You can assign a policy that applies customized limits and warning notifications to one or multiple templates. When you assign a policy or change the assignment of a policy to a template, this policy is applied to all of the places created from this template.
The templates catalog displays the policies acting on the templates in the site. A place is created by selecting a template and inherits the policy assigned to this template unless you assign a policy to a place directly from the Places tab. If policy is assigned to a template, all the places using this template will inherit this policy. But if a policy is explicitly assigned to a place, it will use that policy instead of the policy assigned to the template. A policy assigned to a place has a higher priority than a one assigned to a template.
When you do not assign a policy to a template or a place, a default policy is applied to the template and all places created from this template.
- From Places Administration, click Templates.
- Select the check box next to a template name in the templates catalog.
Note: You can assign a policy to multiple templates by selecting all of the check boxes that apply.
- Click Assign policy.
- Select a policy to assign to your template from the list.
- Click OK to finish assigning the policy to a template.
