Get started by creating a place.
Any authenticated user can create a place, unless place creation has been restricted by the administrator. If place creation has been restricted, only authorized users see the Create
When you create a place, you have the option to define how users will access it and become members. The following options can be selected at place creation or by editing the properties of your place.
- This place allows public access, and anyone can join: Anyone can view or visit a public place. Users viewing your place click Join this place to become a place member. Members can leave the place by clicking Leave this place.
- This place allows public access: Anyone can view or visit a public place. A place manager must add a user before they can become a place member.
- This place does not allow public access: Users cannot view or access a private place until a place manager adds them as members.
You can also specify a list of tags for a new place. Public and personal place views in the places catalog can be sorted by tags.
After you create a place from a template, customize it to fit your needs. You can add content like blogs, wikis, or feed readers, add and reorder pages, manage members, or edit the properties of your place. If given the appropriate permissions, you can save your place as a template for others to use. To save your place as a template, click Place Actions
-> Save as Template
