|Set the properties of your place, including the name, description, friendly URL, theme, and place owner. Enable place notification and change who has access to your place.
Set the properties of your place, including the name, description, friendly URL, theme, and place owner. Enable place notification and change who has access to your place.
You must be a place manager or place owner to change the properties of a place.
- Click Place actions.
- Click Edit place properties to set the name, description, friendly URL, place owner, or theme for the place.
Only the current place owner or server administrator can change the place owner. The place owner field has type-ahead entry enabled, so that as you enter a name it will display names that match those characters.
Themes can be prevented from displaying in the properties options by configuring Place properties
in Advanced administration
-> Portlet management
. IBM® WebSphere® Portal themes are hidden by default, because they are not optimized for IBM Lotus® Quickr™ for WebSphere Portal.
Enable place notifications to send emails to place members. Mail service must be configured in order for place notification to work properly.
Set or change the way users will access your place.
- Select This place allows public access, and anyone can join to make your place public and allow anyone to join your place by clicking Join this place. Members can leave the place by clicking Leave this place. Use Member role to select what default role is assigned to members who add themselves using Join this place. use Public role to select what default role is assigned to non-members visiting your place.
- Select This place allows public access to make your place public. A place manager must add members to the place, and the place is listed in Public places.
- Select This place does not allow public access to create a private place. Users cannot view or access this place created until the place manager adds them as members.
