When new member notification is enabled, users are sent a welcome e-mail when they are added to a place where notification is enabled. When enabled, notification applies only to the place where it is enabled. You must enable new member notification for each place where you want new users to receive a welcome notice when they join or are added to a place.
Mail service must be enabled for new member notification to work. See Configuring your mail service
- Open the place where you want to enable new member notification.
- Click Place Actions -> Edit Place.
- Check Automatically send a welcome e-mail to new users.
- Click Save.
