Preparing your Windows operating system for a cluster installation: qp85
This section includes information on setting up your Windows operating system prior to the Lotus Quickr installation. Other components might require additional steps; see the product documentation for the specific components that you want to install for information.
Installing ND on the deployment manager machine on Windows: qp85
IBM WebSphere® Application Server Network Deployment on the deployment manager system must be installed at the same product revision level as the WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment levels used on the cluster nodes and must have the same corrective service levels applied. IBM Lotus Quickr for WebSphere Portal provides a customized installation package (CIP) that includes WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment and all required maintenance packages. Use the discs supplied with Lotus Quickr to install WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment on a dedicated system.
Installing the primary node on Windows: qp85
This system serves as the basis for the applications shared by the cluster members. The installation process installs Lotus Quickr, federates the node to the deployment manager, and creates the cluster with the primary node as the first cluster member.
Installing a secondary node on Windows: qp85
Install IBM Lotus Quickr for WebSphere Portal on each additional node that you want to add to your cluster. The installation process also federates the node to the deployment manager and adds the node as a member to the existing cluster.
Creating a new cluster from a single server node on Windows: qp85
Create a new cluster from an installation of IBM Lotus Quickr for WebSphere Portal on a single server node in the cell. In this scenario, you use an existing Lotus Quickr installation to form the primary node and create a new cluster from a single server installation.
Enabling LDAP security after cluster creation on Windows: qp85
You can change the type of security that you are using after you have created a cluster. For example, you might want to switch from the database user registry security that is provided by default when you install IBM Lotus Quickr for WebSphere Portal to security based on an LDAP user registry.
Adding a single server node to an existing cluster on Windows: qp85
If you have an existing, stand-alone IBM Lotus Quickr for WebSphere Portal server with an LDAP server or external security manager, you can add it as a secondary node to an existing cluster. You must manually federate the node to the deployment manager, update the security configuration, and add the node to the cluster.
Installing a cluster in silent mode on Windows: qp85
You can install a cluster in silent mode from the command prompt.
Sharing database domains between clusters on Windows: qp85
To help provide redundancy and failover support in production environments composed of multiple clusters, you can share database domains between those clusters.
