You can install more than one copy of IBM® Lotus® Quickr™ for WebSphere Portal on the same system and have each copy operate independently of the others. Each copy of Lotus Quickr is installed using a separate IBM WebSphere® Application Server profile.
Installing multiple copies of Lotus Quickr on the same machine impacts performance because all copies share the same system resources, such as processor capacity and memory.
To install each copy of Lotus Quickr, follow these instructions
Verify that you can start and access the WebSphere Application Server administrative server and the WebSphere_Portal application server:
- Install Lotus Quickr. You can:
- Open a command line and navigate to the directory was_profile_root/bin.
- Enter the following commands, dependent on your operating system:
Access the administrative console for WebSphere Application Server by entering the following Web address in a browser:
- Linux® and AIX®:
where hostname is the fully qualified host name of the system where WebSphere Application Server is installed. Port 10027 is the default admin port and may be different depending on how you have configured the ports on your system. For example, enter http://www.example.com:10027/ibm/console/.
Access Lotus Quickr by requesting the following Web address in a browser: http://hostname.example.com:10040/lotus/quickr, where hostname.example.com is the fully qualified host name of the machine where Lotus Quickr is running and 10040 is the default transport port that is created by WebSphere Application Server.
If you are unable to access either Lotus Quickr or the administrative server for WebSphere Application Server, see Prerequisite software for the information center: qp85 to determine the cause of your problem and the steps required to correct it.
When performing certain tasks, you might need to increase your JVM heap size.
At this point, you can login and start using Lotus Quickr or you can continue to extend your Lotus Quickr environment.
