in the portlet menu to configure the library settings for all users. Only place managers have access to configure a library.
In Library Shared Settings
, modify the following library configuration settings:
Identifies a subfolder within the current document library as the root folder for the library. When you log in to the library, this folder becomes the first folder in the contents list or folder tree. If you select a root folder that has been deleted, renamed, or is inaccessible, the default root path reverts to the current document library root. In this situation, you can still navigate to any accessible folder in the document library.
Default library view type
By default, the details view of the library is displayed. You can change this to the summary view.
View unpublished documents
This setting determines whether draft, unpublished documents show in library folders, or only in the Working Drafts view.
Show indicator for new documents: When enabled, documents that are new or have been recently modified are flagged with the word New! next to them.
Enable users to create new Rich Text Editor files: Enable the use of the Rich Text Editor.
Enable browser plugin: Enables the browser plug-in that allows you to edit documents using local applications installed on your computer. When the plug-in is disabled, you can only create and edit documents using the default rich text editor.
Enable import from feed: When enabled, members can import from feeds. If not enabled, members can create documents within the library or upload files from their personal computer.
Enable navigation by category: When enabled, two methods are provided for viewing the contents of the document library: the folder view and a category view. Both methods display a hierarchical view of the contents, with folders or categories organized in top-down, parent-child order. You must also select the default navigation method. If navigation by category is not enabled, members can only navigate by folder.
Enable folder tree: With the folder tree enabled, you have the option to display the document library folder hierarchy vertically, starting at the document library root folder. When enabling, select a value for the breadcrumb detail. With the folder tree disabled, you can display the list of document library contents only as a list, without the navigation tree on the left. With the folder tree disabled, members can only navigate by the breadcrumb trail.
If the plug-in is installed, then use it to download files: When enabled, it is used by default when files are downloaded.
Choose default navigation method
Indicates whether users can navigate in the library by folders or by categories.
Breadcrumb level of detail
If the folder tree is enabled, the breadcrumb level of detail can be set as follows:
Show current location as breadcrumb: the breadcrumb listing shows the top level of the library and all subfolders down to the current location.
Show current location only: only the current location or subfolder is shown in the breadcrumb listing.
Do not show current location in any format: no breadcrumb listing.
The max file size in bytes
Restricts uploads to a specific size. Enter 0 for unlimited upload size. To use this option, you must enable content events. See Configuring global library options.
The file extensions not allowed to upload
Restrict specific file extensions from loading. Leaving this blank allows all file extensions. To use this option, you must enable content events. See Configuring global library options.
Number of documents displayed per page
Defaults to 20 documents per page, but can be set higher or lower.
Maximum number of items returned in a list
Sets of documents or other items, such as the contents of a folder, are presented as a list. Search results and view contents are also displayed as a list. By default, this maximum number is set to 500 for folders and views. You can select a different number from the drop-down list to reset the maximum to a higher or lower number.
Note: Increasing the maximum number of items in a list can adversely affect server performance, and result in longer wait times while using the document library.
Document link behavior
Each document name in the library display is linked. When a library user clicks the document name, this setting determines whether the library preview appears (default), or the document is opened for editing.
Drag and drop behavior
Indicates whether dragging and dropping moves or copies a document or folder.
SMTP mail server
Identifies the SMTP mail server used to send an e-mail link to documents and folders.
Enable document conversions
Enable document conversion to work with documents created in other file formats such as Microsoft® Word or WordPerfect in the rich text editor.
Enable active content filtering
Enable document comments
Allows users of the library to add comments to documents created by others. You can also select options to allow document authors and managers to delete comments, and allow document authors to clear all comments.
Lotus® Quickr™ connectors install link
Show or hide the link that allows users to download and install the Lotus Quickr connectors. This option does not appear if the connectors are already installed on the user computer.
