In LDAP environments, map the WebSphere Portal user attributes ibm-primaryEmail
to the corresponding LDAP e-mail attribute. Several IBM® Lotus® Quickr™ features require these mappings.
Each user in the WebSphere Portal user registry has an ibm-primaryEmail
attribute. One or both might have e-mail address values used by several Lotus Quickr features. For example, when you open Places Administration
and click the Places
tab, you can click Add Member
or Send E-mail
. Those dialogs use type-ahead to return user names and e-mail addresses. Also, e-mail notifications for events such as new place membership, calendar invitations, and task assignments all require accurate e-mail addresses.
In environments where users are stored in LDAP instead of WebSphere Portal, you must map the ibm-primaryEmail
attributes to the corresponding LDAP e-mail attribute for Lotus Quickr to access user e-mail addresses. For example, if the LDAP attribute that contains primary user emails is email
, map ibm-primaryEmail
Perform the steps in the topic Mapping attributes
, in the WebSphere Portal information center.
- This topic describes mapping attributes on Microsoft Windows operating systems. If your environment is not Windows, find the corresponding topic for your operating system, for example see the topic Mapping attributes in the Linux installation section.
- Perform the steps on the WebSphere Portal server that is installed with Lotus Quickr.
- In clustered environments, see the appropriate topic in the cluster installation sections, for example see the topic Mapping attributes on Windows in a clustered environment.
