Policies are stored in the JCR and are partially migrated during the import. If you do not intend to use policies, no further action is necessary. If you want to use policies in your Lotus Quickr 8.5 server, follow these steps to complete the migration process.
With the new, simplified policy management in the Places Administration console, policies you can easily create and assign policies to templates for all places of a particular type, or to individual places. While it is recommended to use the new policy management, you can continue to use policies from the Quickr 22.214.171.124 server. Note that you can manually migrate policies; however, you must use the policy resources portlet to update and assign the policies.
The $Application migratepznrules script can be invoked multiple times, and only modifies policy rules if the script can resolve references to application categories and template names.
This script modifies policy rules only; other business rules defined and controlled by the Personalization component are not affected.
To use policies in your Lotus Quickr 8.5 server, follow these steps:
- With the WebSphere Portal server running, change to the quickr85_install_dir/quickr_server_root/bin directory and invoke the Portal Scripting Interface for your operating system using the appropriate command and administrator credentials:
Windows®:wpscript.bat -user portal_administrator_userID -password portal_administrator_password
UNIX®./wpscript.sh -user portal_administrator_userID -password portal_administrator_password
AIX®./wpscript.sh -user portal_administrator_userID -password portal_administrator_password
- Run the following scripts:\$Portal login portal_administrator_userID portal_administrator_password\$Application migratepznrules
- When you have finished running the scripts, log out: \$Portal logout
- Set resource permissions to manage the migrated policies.
