When installing IBM® Lotus® Quickr for IBM i from a downloaded image instead of from physical media, you run a series of IBM i commands to prepare the downloaded files for installation.
You should have already installed Lotus Domino®.
Follow these steps to download the installation package and create a library and save file for Lotus Quickr for IBM i. If you are installing from physical media, skip this task.
- Download the installation package for Lotus Quickr if you have not already done so.
- On your workstation, run the downloaded .exe file to extract the following files:
Sign on to the system with a user profile that has *ALLOBJ and *SECADM special authorities. You will also need the *IOSYSCFG (System configuration) *JOBCTL (Job control ) special authorities to perform installation and configuration.
On any IBM i command line, run the following commands to create a library and the required empty save file for the Lotus Quickr software:
- A short Readme document
- QQUICKR: IBM i binary save file containing the Lotus Quickr software.
Open a Windows® command prompt session on your workstation and change to the directory that contains the downloaded files. For example:
Start an FTP session with your system and transfer the downloaded files to the save file you created earlier. Use the same user profile that you used in step 2.
ftp [your IBM i server name or IP address]
put QQUICKR MYLIB/QQUICKR (replace
The save file on your system now contains the Lotus Quickr software.
