Lotus Symphony 3 has introduced a completely new Charting engine, providing a new charting experience, chart types and many other new or enhanced features like custom Y error bar, trend lines, enhanced formatting options and more.
New charting user experience
The chart creation wizard has been enhanced. Now the preview of the chart is on the sheet itself, providing a better look at the resulting chart. Additionally, 3D charts in Symphony 3 are greatly improved.

New chart types
Symphony 3 offers new chart types, including cylinder/cone/pyramid column and bar chart, and other options for sub-chart types.
Custom Y error bar
Custom Y error bar is used to express potential error amounts graphically relative to each data marker in a data series.
It can be applied to a part of or all of the data series.
Trend lines
Trend lines(also called regression equations) are used to graphically display trends in data and to analyze problems of prediction. It can be applied to a part of or all of the data series.
Enhanced formatting options
Symphony 3.0 offers many enhanced formatting options, including:
• Reverse axes: Axes can be set to the reversed direction.
• Number format of the data labels: Set number format, percentage format of the data labels.
• Ability to display each part of a data label in a separate line and allow more flexible placement of labels on data points.
